Insomniac Games is riding high on the success of the recently launched Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which has garnered quite a fan following and appreciation from fans and critics alike.
Reputed leaker Daniel Richtman has claimed that Insomniac’s next adventure, Marvel’s Wolverine, is currently in development with a 2025 release in mind. It will be set in Madripoor, a fictional Southeast Asian city.

Earlier this year, journalist Jeff Grubb had claimed that Wolverine was slated for a Fall 2024 release. However, the release window of 2025 sounds more reasonable.
The story will be set in Madripoor, a fictional Southeast Asian city haven for pirates and criminals. It remains to be known if the entire story will be placed in Madripoor or if it will serve as one of the stages for the game.

Earlier reports by Jeff Grubb mentioned that the game would have a semi-open structure. There are rumors about the mood of the game as well.
Richtman says that Wolverine will have a darker setting and a slightly more mature tone to the gameplay than Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Spider-Man 2. This sounds quite interesting and gives it the potential to be something like Batman: Arkham Knights or Arkham Origins and possibly surpass it.
It will also be interesting to see what Insomniac has planned for 2024; no lined-up releases exist. One can expect a DLC or two for Spider-Man 2.
There is also a hopeful part of the fanbase expecting a Venom spinoff, similar to the Miles Morales title that came between Spider-Man 1 and 2. Wolverine is hotly anticipated, and we can expect more news in early 2024.
