Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s trailer premiered at a PlayStation Showcase event in 2021. However, not much has been disclosed about the game other than a teaser clip.
A developer at Insomniac Games might have leaked the release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 after their personal website confirmed a Fall 2023 release date.
The website was then updated to say just 2023, but observant fans were quick to spot the blunder. This leak has not been confirmed by Sony yet. So, everyone should be careful whether to believe this piece of information or not.
Nevertheless, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to launch in 2023. Developers often decide against a Fall release for AAA games. However, video games are prone to delays, so who knows when exactly we might get to play the much-anticipated Spider-Man title.
The store page for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also went live on the PlayStation store before quickly getting taken down. A couple of fans did add it to their wishlists, but no new information was discovered. With these mishaps, one might guess that the official release date announcement is not too far away.
Had there been a PlayStation Showcase in 2022, Sony would have released another trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Just like Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West, there could be a specific State of Play event for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which would focus on the features of the game.
About Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, and features a narrative inspired by its long-running comic book mythology derived from various adaptations in other media.
It is the third entry in the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, acting as a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and a follow-up to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). In this installment, Peter Parker and Miles Morales struggle to navigate the next steps in their personal lives while combating several new threats, including a private militia led by Kraven the Hunter, who transforms New York City into a hunting ground for super-powered individuals and the extraterrestrial Venom symbiote, which bonds itself to Parker and negatively influences him, threatening to destroy his relationships.
