Marvel Studios dives into Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Release dates for movies including Black Widow, Blade, Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4 have been revealed. 2019 has undoubtedly been one of the best years for Marvel. Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Far from Home left fans in awe with their scintillating tales of everyone’s’ favorite Marvel heroes. Let’s take a look at what Marvel announced at San Diego comic-con.
Blade
The Blade trilogy starring Wesley Snipes was one of the few movies I watched with my dad(he’s not a big fan of film, but Blade is different). The childhood fantasy hero and a cult favourite of the 90 is back. Blade, the vampire hunter makes its way into the MCU. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige closed out a presentation with the news that has already caused quite a frenzy. Two time Academy Award winner, Mahershala Ali, came on stage with fellow Marvel celebs wearing a black baseball hat with ‘Blade’ written on it. No other details, including the release date or director, were announced.
Black Widow
Release Date: May 1, 2020
Villain: Taskmaster
The scene that broke all of our hearts was the death of Black Widow portrayed by Scarlet Johansson. Avengers: Endgame left the fans with a golden victory but an irreplaceable loss. The absence of Robert Downey Jr and Scarlet Johansson at the end of the Avengers series is something that will always eat us away. Well, until something happens and they come back(Yes! I never lost hope). Before that happens, fans have more to look forward to from the Black Widow franchise; a stand-alone Black Widow film! The film will showcase the origins of Black Widow and Hawkeye. Johansson releases a short hand-to-hand combat scene from Budapest at San Diego. Black Widow will also star David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, and Florence Pugh.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson revealed the information on the fourth installation of the God of Thunder series. The movie is called ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and is set to release on November 5th, 2021. Waititi stated that The Mighty Thor inspired him to do more with the cinematic adaptation. For those of you who don’t know, The Mighty Thor is the comic series where the female Thor is introduced. You all know what that means. Natalie Portman is back as female Thor, and SHE IS WORTHY!
Shang-Chi
Release Date: Feb 12, 2021
Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings. The movie title sounds almost Mandarin, doesn’t it? The Shang-chi movie is going to be the second installment for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige revealed that the movie is set to release on February 12th, 2021. The movie led by Simu Liu along with Awkwafina will deal with the chronicles of the villain Mandarin played by Tony Leung. Mandarin has been Iron Mans’ arch enemy for ages, and we all know what happens when he gets the ten rings. With the failure of the villain in Iron Man 3, Shang-Chi for Mandarin is under pressure to deliver.

Good news on a great day. With the audience singing Happy Birthday to the good Doctor and Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch, Feige made it grand. Marvel Cinematic Universe
MCU came to existence in 2008 with Iron Man, casting the Best of the best, RDJ. While the initial choice for the first movie was Doctor Strange, the Robert Downey Jr. choice was the best thing that could have happened to Marvel fans. From Iron Man to Spiderman: Far From Home in 2019, Marvel has made numerous blockbusters in its’ 11 years. Marvel’s movies are always divided into phases, with Iron Man starting Phase 1 and Spiderman ending Phase 3, collectively known as ‘Infinity Saga’.
