MAPPA is a pro at animating the most traumatizing manga ever, so it was no surprise when they took Chainsaw Man under their care.
After fooling us with a December 2021 release, MAPPA has confirmed that they’ll be releasing the anime this year for sure. Although I was initially doubtful about their claim, the studio did come around this time.
MAPPA will host a live stream for the Chainsaw Man anime on its YouTube channel to reveal the much-awaited cast lineup with a new trailer.
The announcement was accompanied by a new key visual that shows Denji after a bloody massacre. The visual accurately depicts almost every other panel of the manga, and this is not even a joke.
If you’re someone who hasn’t read the manga yet and is already concerned about why it’s so popular, then let me tell you that even we’re trying to figure it out. It’s like we love to get hurt again and again by it, so no wonder we got a second part that will completely annihilate our emotions.
Moreover, Crunchyroll has also announced that it will be streaming the anime on its platform globally. That means multilingual people will be able to experience the pain not just in Japanese and English but also in their native language.
Consider it a warning from someone who’s experienced, do not get into Chainsaw Man if you can’t get through AOT because this is much worse.
But if you’re someone who loves to get their feelings hurt by a bunch of moving drawings, then be my guest.
