One thing that Chainsaw Man is popular for, apart from its traumatic plot and bloodshed, it’s the alluring Villains. It’s amazing how well Chainsaw Man executes its antagonists to become iconic and haunt the narrative for a long time.
Part 1 of Chainsaw Man graced us with many interesting and well-written antagonists we were sad to let go of. But Fujimoto has heard our pleas and is bringing all the major antagonists one by one in part 2, as evident in the latest chapter.
Who are the Major Antagonists in Chainsaw Man Part 1
The first part of Chainsaw Man has no doubt some of the powerful and iconic antagonists that had every weeb on their knees. Some of them include names like Makima-the Control Devil, Quanxi- the Bow Devil hybrid, and Reze, the Bomb Devil.
Apart from them, there were also some other villains who had given difficult times to our protagonists, like Eternity and Bat Devils. One of the most fearsome and powerful devils, which fans still remember, is the Gun Devil, who embodies the fear of guns and later takes over Aki Hayakawa’s body.
Which Two Devils Have Made the Latest Appearance?
Just like its predecessor, Chainsaw Man Part 2 is also leaving no stone unturned in introducing the powerful villains who also love to make Denji’s life hell. Out of all, the most complex one includes Yoru, the War Devil, and also one of the four horsemen who had taken over Asa Mitaka’s body.
Despite all the previous antagonists like Bat Devil and Quanxi making surprising comebacks in the second part, fans were not ready to see Gun Devil in the latest chapter, and that too in the middle of the Yoru and Pochita’s showdown
Gun Devil has not returned in his original form but as a weapon of the War Devil in chapter 176 of Chainsaw Man. Yoru, after being cornered by Pochita, summons her two children as a last resort. Her one blown-off arm transforms into the Tank Devil and another one into the Gun Devil.
Yoru, as a War Devil, can turn her ‘children’ (anything that was the weapon of the war and she owns) into weapons. Amid war, it is revealed that she had become the mother of Gun Devil, who was being locked somewhere. Despite being shocking, it makes sense as Gun Devil was previously split into many pieces.
Which Antagonists are Expected to Come Next?
Since every major antagonist like Gun Devil, Quanxi, and even Makima from Part 1 are appearing in one form or another, it might not be wrong to expect other devils to make a major comeback. Since Devils are killed in hell, they can get reincarnated in the human world, so there is hope Fujimoto might bring more devils in the future.
Fans have been passionately hoping to see characters like Power and Reze reappear in the second part. Apart from that, Death Devil, which has been a mystery for a long time now, is expected to make a twisting appearance, too.
Story of Chainsaw Man Part 2
Following the conclusion of the original series in 2020, the second part of Chainsaw Man began serialization in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ in July 2022. Starting from chapter 98 of the manga, the series is ongoing with new characters in focus.
The second part of Chainsaw Man shifts the focus toward the new protagonist, Asa Mitaka. She is a high schooler who enters into a contract with the War Devil and is forced to pursue Chainsaw Man to fulfill Yoru’s past grudge.

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.
The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.
However, his pet devil, Pochita is killed on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize he and Pochita have become a single being, Chainsaw Man. If he does not want to get killed, he has to join the government and continue hunting demons.
