Max runs into some old friends in episode 5 of Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero titled “With His Grace!”

Needing some fresh air, Max and the Demon Lord step out of the house for a shopping trip. While wandering around the grocery shop, Max runs into an old friend from his hero days, Anego, who is now branded a terrorist by the media.

They catch up on their life after the massive battle years ago, and she invites Max to visit the Gamma Republic and Leo. However, he is hesitant to face his past in the state he’s currently in.

2. Speculation

Max has reached the Gamma Republic with Maou and is now roaming around known terrorist areas. Since Leo has also shown up at the hot springs where they’re relaxing, the two will run into each other.

They were close friends during their warrior days, and Leo constantly asks how Max is doing. Hence, it is likely that Leo will be very excited to see his old friend again, although Max is a bit shy about it.

3. Recap

Max leaves the house to get some fresh hair, and the Demon Lord joins him since she’s feeling cooped up. They eventually check out a clothes shop and also get groceries and dinner.

At the supermarket, one of the shopkeepers recognizes Max and shakes his hands. He notices her grip strength and looks up to see a familiar face from his past. She tells him to come out to the back of the shop and to send Maou back home.

The shopkeeper’s one of Leo’s people, Anego, and they catch up on their lives after the colossal battle. Another of the Gamma Republic’s people runs into Maou and offers to take her to Max, which she gladly accepts.

They try to recruit Max into the Gamma Republic, and Will also shows up at the perfect time to try a more forceful approach. However, the second he puts her hands on the demon lord, Max knocks him out.

Their shopping trip comes to an end, and Anego and Will head back to the Gamma Republic. Maou desperately wants to go on the trip and uses an enchantment spell to hypnotize Max.

After escaping hypnosis, Max finds himself at the Gamma Republic airport.

The two tour around the city and also relax at the hot springs. They spot a commotion and check it out to find Leo showing off in front of everyone. This brings back memories of Max’s fight with Leo in the arena, where they shared a warrior’s friendship.

Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero is a Japanese manga story written and drawn by toufu. It has been published on Houbunsha’s Comic Fuz website since March 2019.

Max defeated the Demon Lord ten years ago. The Demon King entered into a long slumber in order to reclaim his power, but when he wakes, his body is only a chibi version of its fearsome shape.

The Demon Lord decides to pay a call to Max to see what his foe is up to, only to find the powerful hero living in a filthy one-room apartment. Then the Demon Lord decides to help Max to regain his power and the man he once was.
