Sherlock Holmes is The Next Nemesis of Lupin III in Anime’s Part 6

Lupin III might have stolen both hearts and treasures with ease in all his past adventures, but the upcoming one is going to be his hardest ever.

Lupin, the titular thief, will be pitted against none other than the legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes, himself in Lupin III part 6.

After Sherlock’s appearance in Moriarty the Patriot, it seems like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s genius character is here to stay in the anime world.

Lupin the Third: Part 6 will premiere on October 10, 2021, licensed by Sentai Filmworks. A brand-new visual has also been revealed to show Lupin and his partners in all their glory.

The visual shows Lupin, Jigen, Zenigata, Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and others. With Lupin’s eyes set on a new treasure in Britain, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce Britain’s greatest detective to the fray.

In fact, Sherlock is set to act as an antagonist as he blames Lupin for Watson’s death.

Now Lupin has thrice the work on his hands as he has to simultaneously rob the treasure, prove his innocence to Sherlock and stop a mysterious organization named Raven.

Ghost in the Shell’s director, Mamoru Oshii, is the guest writer for the project. He was previously involved in a canceled film of Lupin the 3rd, but he was delighted when he got another chance at the series.

He was given complete freedom with the script, and we will once again see his genius ideas in Lupin.

The idea of incorporating Sherlock was of the script supervisor, Takahiro Okura. In his mind, Sherlock is the only one who can stand on par with Lupin as he has already conned officials all over the world.

Or Fujiko Mine, a femme fatale and Lupin’s love interest. Although Fujiko usually works together with the others, she occasionally exploits Lupin’s interest in her to steal the treasure for herself. Lupin and his gang are always chased by Inspector Koichi Zenigata of Interpol.
