It’s quite funny how music and war, two things that can’t be any more contrasting, often go hand-in-hand. Strike Witches’ upcoming spin-off series Luminous Witches shows us how songs help people cope with the consequences of warfare.
Unlike Strike Witches, this series is peaceful and wholesome, though they share the similarity of a squadron of witches being the protagonist. Instead of the unit going for aerial battles, they put on aerial idol shows to protect the smiles of those who’ve lost their homes to the Neuroi.
To give you a peek at how stellar these shows are, Luminous Witches anime has revealed a new trailer previewing the theme song, ‘WONDERFUL WORLD’ by the cast members. The show will come out on July 3, 2022.
The trailer starts on a bitter note as the video shows scenes from the battlefield where witches fight the Neuroi. A dramatic tune plays in the background, suggesting that the protagonists want to do something other than fight for the citizens.
The trailer then picks up the pace and gets a more cheerful vibe when the opening theme starts playing in the background and the characters are introduced.
At last, we get a taste of how magical the Musical Squadron looks while performing under a beautiful dusky sky as the sun sets. But that’s not all because their music is no less than mystical, and you’ll be convinced that it does have healing powers.
Music is the central factor in the anime, so it only makes sense that we’ll get an unskippable soundtrack from the series.
Honestly, I can’t wait for all their songs to come out so I can play them on loop.
