Enemies to lovers to stalkers. Love of Kill is about two mismatched assassins who weave together a twisted Assassin x Assassin thriller.
The cool bounty hunter Chateau and the mysterious and powerful Ryang-Ha become enemies after a face-off, but that changes as soon as Ryang-Ha catches feelings for a certain hunter.
Fe’s original manga, Love of Kill, confirmed an upcoming anime adaption to premiere in 2022, and to our luck, an eerie PV was released on August 6th.
Talk about creepy music and nearly pitch-black parking lots; it’s hard to believe this anime switches from assassins to secret admirers.
After their blood-dripping gun-wielding fight sequence, Ryang-Ha pins Chateau down just to learn her name (or so we think). The PV ends with Chateau asking the same question lingering in our heads: what is his true motive?
Only the cast of the main characters has been revealed, but we have it right here for you.
Cast | Staff | Other works |
Chateau Dankworth | Saori Ōnishi | Attack on Titan (Conny Springer) |
Son Ryang-ha | Hiro Shimono as | Food Wars! (Hisako Arato) |
While the PV entails minimal dialogue, the use of fast-paced movements, strange music, and slo-mo scenes have brought out an effect as hard-hitting—and here’s the staff working on doing just that!
Position | Staff | Other works |
Director | Hideaki Oha | Denkou Chou Tokkyuu Hikarian |
Scriptwriter | Ayumu Hisao | Aikatsu Friends! |
Character Design | Yoko Sato | Gintama |
Music | Kei Yoshikawa | Basquash! |
Studio | Platinum Vision | Kono Oto Tomare! |
Love of Kill takes courting a step further, with Ryang-ha gifting Chateau’s current targets to her, tied up and battered… I guess that’s one way of expressing affection?
How will our suited-up assassins avoid getting entangled in danger? Why did Ryang-Ha approach Chateau? How does Chateau’s past fit into the story?
Let the twisted cat-and-mouse game of love between two killers begin!
About Love of Kill
Love of Kill is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fe. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s shōjo manga magazine Monthly Comic Gene since October 2015 and has been collected in nine tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.
Two assassins face off at a certain “workplace.” The cool bounty hunter Chateau and the mysterious and powerful Ryang-Ha.
Chateau and Ryang-Ha become enemies after this fight—at least, they should have, but for some reason Ryang-Ha takes a liking to Chateau and begins following her around.
Little by little, Chateau develops a cooperative partnership with Ryang-Ha, which gets her caught up in the struggle against the organizations hunting him down. Furthermore, that battle is related to her past as well.
Why did Ryang-Ha approach Chateau? What is Chateau’s secret past?
