New trailers of the upcoming Love of Kill anime are pulling otakus even deeper into its mysterious plot.
With both the protagonists being hitmen, the plot was bound to be twisted, but it is only now that we are getting a true taste of the premise.
Love of Kill gives us a fresh take on assassin-themed anime. Rather than a dashing hitman hero and a hopeless lady who falls in love with him, the anime provides us with an alternative where both the characters are creepy as hell.
The Love of Kill anime will be released on January 12, 2022, and a brand-new trailer has just been revealed for it. The teaser previews the ending theme of the anime by Aika Kobayashi, “Makoto Period.”
The new English subtitled trailer gives us a glimpse into Chateau Dankworth’s past, which is eerier than her name. She was found from a totaled car as a kid with the body of an unidentified boy.
Ever since then, she doesn’t remember anything except her name. Yet, once she grows up, a shadow from her past is back to haunt her. With no memories of him, will Chateau be able to distinguish friend from foe?
The new visual portrays another batch of yet undisclosed characters from the boss of a shady organization (Bachman Donald) to those who hold a grudge against the hero (Hou).
The teaser also revealed cast members of some of the other characters:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Jinon | Ayumu Murase | Shoyo Hinata (Haikyu!!) |
Nikka | Masakazu Morita | Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach) |
Mifa | Yoko Hikasa | Utahime Iori (Jujutsu Kaisen) |
Although no streaming options have been listed for the anime yet, I bet it will get snatched up by major websites soon. Who would want to miss such an out-of-the-box anime?
All the major information is out, and now we only need to wait one more month to start watching this fantastic series.
Chateau has a lot to unravel about her past, and Song Ryang-ha has a lot of explanation to do about his creepy tactics.
About Love of Kill
Love of Kill is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fe. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s shōjo manga magazine Monthly Comic Gene since October 2015 and has been collected in nine tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.
Two assassins face off at a certain “workplace.” The cool bounty hunter Chateau and the mysterious and powerful Ryang-Ha.
Chateau and Ryang-Ha become enemies after this fight—at least, they should have, but for some reason Ryang-Ha takes a liking to Chateau and begins following her around.
Little by little, Chateau develops a cooperative partnership with Ryang-Ha, which gets her caught up in the struggle against the organizations hunting him down. Furthermore, that battle is related to her past as well.
Why did Ryang-Ha approach Chateau? What is Chateau’s secret past?
