If you are anything like me, you will inevitably find yourself circling back to anime about high school students.
Before you misunderstand, let me clarify. Anime movies such as Summer Ghost help us regain the long-forgotten spark that we usually discover in our high schools and so, these coming-of-age movies can make a huge difference to our otherwise mundane life.
What’s more, the brilliant artist loundraw will not only be illustrating the movie but will be marking his first-ever directorial film!
loundraw’s upcoming film, Summer Ghost is set to premiere on 12th November 2021. The new trailer, along with the visuals, plot, cast, and staff, has been revealed as well.

The trailer begins with three kids cracking fireworks, however, their expressions and body language contradict their actions. As the video progresses, we see hopeful glances from them, looking upwards thinking about the ‘Summer Ghost’.
We’ve already had the taste of loundraw’s stunning artwork in I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, and the same can be seen to have reflected in this trailer and the following visual.
“To express the true loundraw” is the apparent theme of the multimedia work Project Common. He previously claimed that the way he thinks and draws becomes ‘One.’ I believe that’s what makes his artwork unique and marvelous.

I can only imagine having the talent to spurn out a whole movie from just one illustration. We must hand it to loundraw on this one since this is precisely what he did.
The plot revolves around three high school students, Tomoya Sugisaki, Aoi Harukawa, and Ryo Kobayashi, who all meet virtually. They plan to seek the spirit girl, also known as the ‘Summer Ghost’ upon whom an urban legend is based.
We know by now how hard people in this industry work, and watching an artist’s thoughts manifest into reality must be an intense experience.

Summer Ghost is an upcoming short theatrical anime film by illustrator loundraw that will be released within 2021.
The protagonists of the film are high school students Tomoya Sugisaki, Aoi Harukawa, and Ryo Kobayashi.
