Loki season 2 Episode 4 Ending Explained: Spaghetti-fied!

Did you just finish Loki season 2 episode 4? Is your mind in a frenzy, and all the timeline shenanigans just went over your head? We’re here to answer all the mind-bending questions about timelines, pruning, He Who Remains and whatnot!

Loki season 2 has dived deeply into the nuances of multiverses and timelines, and this episode was no different. However, before diving headfirst into how this week’s episode ends, here are a few things to remember.

  • Loki season 1 ends with Sylvie killing He Who Remains, protector of the Sacred Timeline. This unleashed unprecedented chaos across the multiverse as multiple new timelines developed and created new realities.

The Sacred Timeline became really unstable and was almost about to collapse under the strain of divergent branches.

  • Season 2 picks up from this cliffhanger, and Loki soon realizes that fixing the timeline isn’t a piece of cake.

It is impossible to restore all the branching timelines to their original state without the help of antagonists like Miss Minutes and He Who Remains.

  • This week’s episode also reveals that there is now more temporal radiation on the outside of the TVA than there was when Mobius dealt with it in the season premiere.

With these points in mind, let’s dissect Loki season 2, episode 4’s ending.

1. Loki Season 2 Episode 4 Ending Explained: Spaghetti-fied

The swiftly expanding Sacred Timeline has become an Achilles Heel in Loki season 2 and attempts by OB and Casey to fix it have been trainwrecks.

Luckily for the TVA, they have none other than Victor Timely in their possession, another variant of He Who Remains. Timely’s aura will help them blast open the door and fix the loom. The only problem is they have no clue how to expand the rings in the center of the loom to make space for new timeline branches.

However, Timely has a prototype for the Throughput Multiplier that can solve this crisis.

After working on the Throughput Multiplier, it becomes evident that Miss Minutes and Renslayer are trying their best to jeopardize their pursuits and have even locked them out of their TemPads.

Loki and Sylvie realize that there is only one way to get around this, i.e., to reboot the entire TVA and start everything afresh. However, this will reset Miss Minutes to a rudimentary state and will also allow Loki and Sylvie to use their magic inside the TVA.

This epiphany sets the state for the final moments of this week’s episode.

However, disaster strikes just when everything seems to go smoothly. Timely’s volunteers bring the Throughput Multiplier and put it in its place, allowing the rings to expand and the branching timelines to settle seamlessly.

Just as Victor Timely enters the multiplier, he gets shredded and spaghetti-fied on screen. Thus, another Kang variant is taken off the table!

With just two more episodes to go, the end seems pretty near. So, what will happen in the end? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Ciao!

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
