Listeners anime was picked up by Funimation last week for its Spring season simulcast and simuldub. Funimation has revealed that the dub will be directed by Cris George based on the scripts by Jarrod Greene.
Although there are no confirmed dates for when the dub will be released, Funimation has started to plan things forward about it.
Funimation announced the English dub cast on Wednesday. The cast includes:
- Justin Briner as Echo Rec
- Bryn Apprill as μ
- Lee George as Jimi
- Morgan Lauré as Swell
- Mark Stoddard as McGee
- Mikaela Krantz as Ein
Staff includes:
- Original story concept: Musician and Kagerou Project creator Jin (Kagerou Daze, Mekaku City Actors), anime writer Dai Sato (Eureka Seven, Wolf’s Rain, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop), and Taichi Hashimoto (revisions)
- Original story: Jin’s 1st Place (Mekaku City Actors), Hashimoto’s Slow Curve (revisions, Human Lost), and Sato’s Story Riders

Listeners is an original Japanese anime television series produced by MAPPA, created by Jin, and directed by Hiroaki Ando. The series premiered on April 3, 2020, on the Animeism programming block.
The story is set in a world where humanity is threatened by mysterious creatures known as the “Earless.” The only hope against the Earless are heroes known as “Players,” who use a special combat mecha known as “Equipment.”
