LinusTechTips to Start AMD Ultimate Tech Upgrade After Intel Deal Ends

Intel started their collaboration with LinusTechTips about two years ago. The parties have together created 24 videos, which brought in a combined 87 million views. This partnership has been relatively successful and commended by many fans.

Linus Sebastian (LinusTechTips) confirmed that the Intel Extreme Upgrade series has been stopped, marking the end of their collaboration with Intel.

Sebastian also announced that the channel will continue the format with AMD, by introducing the “Ultimate Tech Upgrade” series.

In Intel Extreme Upgrade, each LinusTechTips employee was given a budget of $5000 for a new PC. This eventually included any additional devices and products which would be needed for PC gaming. The format became a medium of expression for each individual and brought them closer to the LTT audience.

Although LTT has not disclosed how much Intel paid for the content, the team accumulated almost $120K with the upgrade budget alone. This is excluding the sponsorship deal and Youtube’s ad revenue.

LinusTechTips is one of the leading tech channels on YouTube with over 15 million subscribers. With such a fan following, the team would have no trouble finding another sponsor for their series.

Top companies like AMD and NVIDIA could benefit from the extra market shares that may come from this collaboration so it’s smart that AMD decided to join hands with LTT.

AMD might have to request the LTT team to exclusively use their Ryzen CPUs and Radeon GPUs, unlike Intel which does not currently offer high-end GPUs. The details of this collaboration have not been revealed yet so hopefully, there will be more news coming soon.
