Uramichi oniisan is here to teach you wonderful kids about the need for microaggression and escapism through cheap liquor and drama.
Just like most of us will never get to be those people on Too Hot to Handle, Uramichi, too, is a 31-year-old loner stuck at a job that is at odds with his nihilism. But there is nothing that neurotic addiction can’t handle.
With loveable quotes such as “My existence has no significance,” I feel right at home.
The Life lessons with Uramichi oniisan’s official website recently announced that four Blu-ray volumes containing the entire anime would be available for fans. Currently, the Blu-rays are in print.
Additionally, the anime’s first episode has also aired recently on 5th July through FUNimation, and the season will have 13 episodes.
Coming back to the Blu-ray release, the cost of each volume is at ¥ 8,580 ($77 US), with tax included. Upto volume two of the set, the buyers will also receive extra goodies such as an original jacket drawn by Takeshi Kuze, an Original Soundtrack, and a booklet.
The extra merch of Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan includes:
Blu-ray Volume | Release Date | Anime Episodes | Merchandise |
1 | September 1, 2021 | 1 to 3 | Episode 1 Audio Commentary |
2 | October 6, 2021 | 4 to 6 | Episode 5 Audio Commentary |
3 | November 3, 2021 | 7 to 9 | – |
4 | December 1, 2021 | 10 to 13 | – |
Additionally, there are also various benefits upon buying all four volumes, such as:
- Uraomote Daily Calendar
- Kotori-san Lunch Tote
- Drawing Mini Chara Acrylic Keychain 2 Pieces Set
- Acrylic clock (A5 size)
- Pass case
With all these tons of merch, we too can “escape reality” and “abandon responsibility,” indeed words brimming with positivity. The first episode truly lived up to the cynical and sadistic tone that the manga portrayed.
If any of the quotes that I flung around stuck with you, don’t forget to watch Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan this season.
