“The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War” – the animated installment of Nihon Falcom’s RPG series was supposed to release this year, but it got delayed to 2023. Recently, a new trailer has unveiled the exact release date so we can be more certain of its arrival.
The official website for “The Legend of Heroes…” anime and Tatsunoko Production have released a new promo for the upcoming series. The series will debut on DMM TV on January 6 before releasing on Tokyo MX, BS 12, and AT-X channels.
The opening theme song “The story so far” is performed by Chisato Akita (MIT GATHERING). Crunchyroll will stream the series outside of Asia.
Nihon Falcom, the game series’ creator, announced the anime adaptation of “Trails of Cold Steel” in March 2021 for a 2022 release. However, they moved the date to 2023 at the end of January 2022.

Tatsunoko Production is handling the production of the series, with Hidekazu Sato directing it. Hideki Ryoga and Mao Emura are working on the scripts. The character designs are originally by Shoji Hara, but Mina Osawa will be designing for the series.
Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War will cover the events of the war between Erebonia and North Ambria, which occur between Trails of Cold Steel II and Trail of Cold Steel III.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War is the anime installment of Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel game series. The anime takes place between the events of the second and the third games.
Lavian was born in North Ambria, the poorest region in the Zemurian Continent. She joins the Northern Jaegers to protect her homeland, and later undergoes a spy mission in Erebonia to gather information on “Imperial Hero” – a threat to North Ambria.
