The first anime in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series is just a couple of weeks away now. And to keep the excitement up, the anime has released a special trailer for Northern War which gives a nice glimpse of how the anime would look like.
Tatsunoko Pro, the production studio behind the anime, released the trailer on Friday. The video summarizes the plot, introduces us to the main characters, and previews the ending song for the series.
Nami Nakagawa (MIT GATHERING) has performed the ending song “Proud Hero”. The opening theme “The story so far” is performed by Chisato Akita (MIT GATHERING).
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War will premiere on DMM TV on January 6, 2023. It will then air on Tokyo MX and BS12 channels on January 8.
The entire cast and staff were previously announced with the release of the second trailer for the series.
Unlike Nihon Falcom’s game series, the story focuses on Lavian Winslet. Originally hailing from North Ambria, she joins the Northern Jaegers and is assigned a spy mission one day. The events of the anime take place between the second and the third game.
A mobile game, based on anime, has also been announced. It will also release in 2023, featuring a new story with characters from the anime and some new ones designed for the game.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War is the anime installment of Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel game series. The anime takes place between the events of the second and the third games.
Lavian was born in North Ambria, the poorest region in the Zemurian Continent. She joins the Northern Jaegers to protect her homeland, and later undergoes a spy mission in Erebonia to gather information on “Imperial Hero” – a threat to North Ambria.
