Lazarus Anime Coming Soon!
The 2024 San Diego Comic-Con revealed that the Lazarus anime will be released in 2025 during the Rick and Morty: The Anime panel. This will be the newest anime by Shinichiro Watanabe, the director behind Cowboy Bebop. Lazarus anime will be streamed on Adult Swim.
After a long wait, the confirmation of the awaited anime is finally here. Even though the anime was announced earlier with the 2024 premiere, the confirmation for Lazarus to stream in 2025 came comparatively late. The exact date and visual is not revealed yet.

The teaser trailer for Lazarus was released in 2023 during Adult Swim Festival’s “Toonami on the Green” at Comic-Con. The anime was tentatively set to be released in 2024. What is Lazarus About
The tale happens in 2052 when humanity prospers with the miracle cure-all drug called Hapuna. The Nobel Prize winner neuroscientist Dr Skinner developed a drug with the power to cure all sickness and pain. But as time passes, the doctor who invented this drug vanishes.
Three years later, he returns with a devastating revelation that the drug will kill off whoever had it in three years. Following this announcement, a task force of 5 gathers from around the world, determined to save humanity from the “harbinger of doom.” This plot follows the story of the task force named Lazarus, sent out to pull humanity out of its doom.

Lazarus is an upcoming original anime series that is set to be directed by Shinichiro Watanabe and will be produced by MAPPA. The director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, is working on the action pieces.
Adult Swin describes the story: The year is 2052 – an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity prevails across the globe. The reason for this: mankind has been freed from sickness and pain. Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist Dr. Skinner has developed a miracle cure-all drug with no apparent drawbacks called Hapuna. Hapuna soon becomes ubiquitous… and essential. However, soon after Hapuna is officially introduced, Dr. Skinner vanishes.
Three years later, the world has moved on. But Dr. Skinner has returned – this time, as a harbinger of doom. Skinner announces that Hapuna has a short half-life. Everyone who has taken it will die approximately three years later. Death is coming for this sinful world – and coming soon.
As a response to this threat, a special task force of 5 agents is gathered from across the world to save humanity from Skinner’s plan. This group is called “Lazarus.” Can they find Skinner and develop a vaccine before time runs out?
