Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the first MCU film to be centered on an Asian superhero. The film will see the titular character confront his past when he becomes involved in the crime world of the Ten Rings organization.
Shang-Chi’s official Instagram account dropped new character posters and also revealed the film’s new villain. The poster shows Death Dealer, the fighter hidden behind a mask.
In the trailers, Death Dealer is seen training a young Shang-Chi, and he is later seen hunting an adult Shang-Chi. But who plays the villain, you may ask? It’s the actor and martial artist Andy Le (who also did his own stunts for the film).

Andy Le has a YouTube channel with more than 700K subscribers where his martial arts skills are on display, and his credits include The Paper Tigers and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Death Dealer is a warrior of the Ten Rings and a former mentor of Shang-Chi in the comics. Li Ching-Lin was a double-crossing MI6 agent working for Fu Manchu, known for his extremely brutal methods.
After being chased down by the organization and nearly killed by Shang-Chi under the order of his sister Fah Lo Suee, he was given the title and attire of Death Dealer by Fu Manchu and became one of Shang-Chi’s greatest enemies.
The film stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers. David Callaham & Destin Daniel Cretton & Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay for the film.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is due for release on September 3, 2021.
