Clare’s official site mentions that “The Wicked Powers” is the final trilogy planned for The Shadowhunter Chronicles. 

“The Wicked Powers” will return to the contemporary world of the Shadowhunters, wrapping up the series nicely after ‘The Last Hours’ trilogy. Moreover, this last trilogy is set closer to our current times, like “The Mortal Instruments” and “The Dark Artifices,” which are set in the 2000s and 2010s. The series’ open-ended climax might also pave the way for any far-future additions by the author. 

The three books of the final trilogy are named ‘The Last King of Faerie,’ ‘The Last Prince of Hell,’ and ‘The Last Shadowhunter.’

The titles suggest a definitive ending, hinting that the characters and Clare’s fantasy world might get destroyed during the series. 

With the ‘cold war’ intensifying between the Shadowhunters and the Fae, the names suggest we’ll get more action on that front. 

Moreover, she mentioned that the last set of books in the Shadowhunter saga will center around the new characters we met in The Dark Artifices, such as Kit Herondale, Ty Blackthorn, and Drusilla Blackthorn. 

More trouble will brew between the angels and the demons, and Drusilla will find herself trapped in the land of the Faeries.

Finally, Cassandra Clare has confirmed that the readers will come across the main characters of her former series again, probably for the last time ever.
