It was far from perfect when Larian Studios released Baldur’s Gate 3. The title was buggy, with many underlying issues preventing players from getting the optimal gaming experience.
Larian Studios, as a part of Patch #3 for Baldur’s Gate 3, has released the title on Mac and has introduced the Magic Mirror that allows players to change the character’s appearance in-game.
The Magic Mirror was a much-requested feature. Following Patch #3, it can be found in a corner of the Players’ Camp. This can change the appearance and the character’s pronouns, voice, and “nether regions.”
It must be kept in mind that the race/subrace and the body type cannot be altered via the Magic Mirror. This means that the changes are merely cosmetic.
The developers clarified that Origin characters, hirelings, and full illithids cannot use the Magic Mirror. Also, Magic Mirror cannot undo or change the cosmetic modifications due to gameplay choices.
Another big news is the inclusion of Mac support. While many developers try to avoid the very secure macOS, Larian Studios took on the challenge. macOS support was missing at launch, initially promised to be released with the Windows version.
However, Larian Studios delayed it and prioritized fixing the issues with the Windows Version first. The release of Baldur’s Gate 3 to macOS is a big step forward for Mac gaming.
Many fans had tried to use the Game Porting Toolkit that Apple released earlier this year to run the Windows version of the game. But they do not have to resort to such methods as native support for Macs is here on Baldur’s Gate 3.
Other gameplay improvements include better performance in the Act 3 area, which is of promised importance, and Sneak attack damage now increasing to 6d6 at Level 11.
The bugs in Baldur’s Gate 3 are expansive, but Larian Studios is working hard to fix the issues and give the best possible experience to the players. More updates are expected to follow.
