In episode 9 of “In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki”, Tsubaki finally learns more about men. Facts that are obvious to us fascinate her curiosity. Rindou is the only one to catch on to this dangerous curiosity Tsubaki has developed while the others choose to remain ignorant.
We also get to see some new faces as we are introduced to yet another painfully quirky team, Team Rooster. The team is comprised of two gals on their way back from rehab and their leader who is the literal definition of a strict disciplinarian.
They have struck quite the odd balance, one that keeps them going on trips to and from the mountains. We can only wait and see what trouble they get themselves into next.
Episode 10 Speculations
As if Tsubaki’s issues weren’t already through the roof, one of the two skits for the next episode is titled “A Team Leader’s Troubles”. With Asagao and Sazanka being notorious for stirring all kinds of troubles and Tsubaki coming in to clean their mess, there is no telling what might happen this time.
The second skit is titled “Favors and Debts”. The show may be extremely lighthearted but the titles of the skits are famously convoluted and sometimes even philosophical (looking at you “Of Snakes and Men”).
It is extremely difficult to anticipate what might come our way in this skit, but my guess is that we could just get to see another team in action.
Episode 10 Release Date

Episode 9 Recap
The ninth episode begins with all of the Akane class going on a crazy snake hunt to get extra side dishes during lunch. The snakes were sent by Hana Sensei with the names of the side dishes on their heads, the ones to catch that specific snake would get that specific side dish.
Tsubaki and Rindou get to know about this game from Fuki and her team when they barge into their room looking for the snake with Tofu signed on it.
The two go out to look for some themselves, this is where they encounter Sazanka and Asagao who label the snake as a “man” in order to get hyped up about catching it. This rubs Tsubaki the wrong way as she goes out of her way to halt their snake hunting to give them a long and sound lecture about it.
Once that is taken care of, Sazanka and Asagao go after the snake while Tsubaki sits down with Rindou to fix the string of her mask. A short conversation about men is struck up since Rindou is from the village of men and Tsubaki is morbidly curious about them.
Tsubaki is relieved to realize that men are people and not really snakes but Rindou’s comment about their *ahem* ding-a-ling and snakes embarrasses her to the extent that she forgets the reason she was out.
Tsubaki’s sudden immobility leads her to let the snake away from them and into the hands of another team. Her embarrassment is read as anger by Asagao and Sazanka who flee for their lives but only Rindou knows the truth.
In the second half of the episode, we are introduced to the members of Team Rooster. The team had been stationed in the mountains for some special training.
The members are Tanpopo and Azami with their leader Sumire. Tsubaki and the others are baffled by Tanpopo and Azami’s appearances since they were what you would call typical Gyarus or gals. It was that boisterousness that had them taken to the mountains to be quelled by their prim and proper leader Sumire.
We are led to believe that the training was successful but the moment Sumire leaves to report to Hana Sensei the two revert back to their usual nature and appearance. They own up to acting in front of Sumire and begin trash-talking about her, completely unaware that Sumire was right behind them with her invisibility technique.
Tsubaki suddenly realizes that and tries to revert the damage by making Azami and Tanpopo talk about Sumire’s good points and things take a surprisingly wholesome turn. The duo seemingly love their leader but are not fine with her uptight nature.
Sumire reveals herself out of the blue shocking Azami and Tanpopo but chooses not to punish them only until they begin complaining about that as well, a move that leads them straight back to the mountains.

In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki is a manga by Soichiro Yamamoto that was released in 2018. Studio CloverWorks will produce its anime adaptation.
Tsubaki is a student at an all-women’s ninja school where men are prohibited. Being in contact with men is also forbidden and everyone there hates males.
Tsubaki, on the other hand, is curious about men. She has to keep her curiosity hidden but also wants to encounter them. Will she be able to face a guy in the near future?
