After the discontinuation of Silent Hill P.T., Konami has been radio silent about the future of the franchise. However it seems like the iconic horror gaming franchise is making a comeback this week.
Konami has confirmed that the Silent Hill series is making a comeback and has a scheduled a Silent Hill Transmission on Wednesday, October 19, at 2:00 pm PDT/ 5:00 pm EDT. Additionally, Konami has launched a new Silent Hill website, which has no further information.
The official Silent Hill account made a tweet stating the date of the transmission and wrote an ominous caption,
In your restless dreams, do you see that town?

The tweet included a link to the brand new Silent Hill website which shows off a new logo for the franchise.
Masahiro Ito, who worked as a monster designer and an art director on the first three Silent Hill games, retweeted the announcement, hence sparking speculations about his involvement with the latest Silent Hill title. In 2020, Ito confirmed that he was working as a “core member” of a development team on a new unannounced game.
A Silent Hill 2 Remake is reportedly in the works by Polish developers, Bloober Team (The Medium, Layers of Fear). Last year, Bloober Team announced a partnership with Konami. Following this, a South Korean rating board rated a new Silent Hill project, known as The Short Message, which is yet to be announced. Christophe Gans, who directed Silent Hill (2006), has stated that he’s working on the script for a third Silent Hill movie.
The overwhelming amount of Silent Hills news, leaks and rumours must be a joy among the fans of the series as Konami has been radio silent about the franchise since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour.
Silent Hill P.T. was later discontinued from the PlayStation Store as well, which added to fans’ frustration with Konami. However, this week’s Silent Hill showcase will provide fans with a brand new look at the future of the franchise and the latest developments on the overall series.
