“I want to make 100 friends”- a wish that is hard for even extroverts to fulfill is a goal set by the highly introverted protagonist of the Komi Can’t Communicate anime.
Komi might look unapproachable, but underneath her confidence lies a person with a communication disorder.
The anime series became the talk of the town as soon as it was announced. Thus, the new trailer’s release is being treated with as much gusto as it deserves.
Tomohito Oda’s Komi Can’t Communicate anime adaptation recently received a new trailer before its October 6, 2021 debut.
Fans’ anticipation has been rewarded as the trailer shows not only Komi but also the adorable but bizarre friends that she will acquire soon.
We get a refined look at some of the additional characters in the anime. From the masochist Agari Himiko to the series’ very own chuunibyou (delusional) Omoharu Nakanaka, all of them are delightful and funny characters.
The whole class is jealous of Tadano being friends with Komi, and our protagonists, have no idea how their “100 friends mission” will be trickier than they think.
Of course, the series has also revealed a new visual, and Komi-san’s charms are overflowing in it.
The visual features everything I love about Tomohito Oda’s art style, from the characters’ expressions to the 90s vibe. All the initial friends of Komi-san are also shown in the visual.
The additional cast of Komi can’t Communicate anime was also revealed:
Character | Cast | Notable Work |
Narrator | Noriko Hidaka | Shalnark (Hunter × Hunter) |
Agari Himiko | Yukiyo Fujii | Madoka Ui (World Trigger) |
Ren Yamai | Rina Hidaka | Pirika Usui (Shaman King) |
Omoharu Nakanaka | Rumi Okubo | Kimi Toudou (Fruits Basket) |
The cast members seem capable as they have plenty of experience with classics like Fruits Basket and Hunter × Hunter.
As the romantic comedy follows Komi and Tadano, they both break the walls that bind Komi. Along the way, they will learn to make friends, reach out for help, and aid others.
The manga itself is a favorite of mine so this anime is already on my must-watch list. The series is so beloved that it’s even receiving a live-action series. If you love rom-com anime, then keep an eye out for other updates on Komi too.
