Kodomo no Gourmet manga is confirmed for a live-action adaptation. Written by Masayuki Kusumi, the mange revolves around a girl who has a flair for cooking.
TV Tokyo announced on Tuesday that it is producing a live-action special adaptation of Masayuki Kusumi and Yoshitoshi Abe’s Kodomo no Gourmet (Child Gourmet) manga that will premiere on October 25.
The story is about Yomogino, a fourth-grader who loves to take up the challenge of cooking.
She visits the chefs working at popular restaurants nearby for advice, and even adds her own little charm to each dish. The main protagonist An Yomogino will be played by Misaki Ishii. The rest of the cast hasn’t been revealed yet.
Kusumi and Abe launched the manga in the comicS+ app in July 2017, where it ran for five chapters before going on hiatus. It rebooted again on the online manga service Renta! last November.
Hajime Senoo who is known for his work in the TV mini-series, Izakaya Fuji, will be directing the special with the script written by Yohei Yamazaki.
About Kodomo no Gourmet
The manga’s story centers on fourth grader An Yomogino, who loves eating food above all. As the elder sister in a family with two working parents, she and her younger brother Kuri are home on weekdays by themselves.
She vows to make and Eat Delicious yet unpredictable dishes that are completely her own, born from her quirky imagination.
