Kodansha USA is a publishing company based in New York, USA and a subsidiary Japan’s second-largest publishing company, Kodansha.
It has published countless notable manga over time, such as Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins, and The Quintessential Quintuplets, to name a few.
Kodansha also holds an annual awards ceremony called Kodansha Manga Award, which first started in 1982. It is currently awarded in three categories: shonen, shojo and general. Last year’s award ceremony was held in December, just before the Corona outbreak. However, Kodansha’s logistics were not equally lucky.
Kodansha USA Publishing announced on Friday that it is rescheduling it’s spring and summer 2020 print releases to some other time later this year due to the Coronavirus. Although, all previously scheduled titles will continue to debut on their original release dates online.
Titles such as Wave, Listen to Me!, Tales of Berseria (manga volume 3), and Drifting Dragons (volume 4) have not been delayed and will release on their expected date. On the other hand, Diamond Comic Distributors also announced its shipment halt on March 23 till indefinite time.
The good thing is, Seven Seas is planning on releasing almost all of its May books digitally. This news of ebook delivery will give relief to fans.
