I am sure all of you have heard about ‘Kaguya sama Love is War,’ but the fact is there isn’t any actual ‘war’ in it. So, if you are like me, who feels robbed of a new genre that blends war and love, here’s great news for you.
The upcoming Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars film explores the concept of “Love in-between War” or “Love in-between Spacewar” to be specific.
As intriguing as the idea may sound, the film will perfectly balance Sidonia’s conflict against the alien forces and the cute love story of Tsumugi and Nagate.
On Friday, the official website for Knights of Sidonia: The Star Where Love is Spun film revealed a full-length trailer. The film will premiere on May 14 in Japan.
The trailer takes us to the peaceful days after remnants of the human race escaped to space in the enormous generation ship Sidonia.
But peace is momentary as long as the alien race Gauna exists. A final battle between the two forces is absolutely necessary to ensure only one of them strives.
Sidonia is under attack by a vast number of Gauna spaceships. A full-fetched war is going on. Can Nagate save humanity from the threat of extinction?
The animation looks pretty detailed, exactly what you expect from a Mecha anime. The cast and staff details behind the film have already been revealed, and it includes some of the industry’s famous names.

The film will most likely conclude the Knights of Sidonia series since the war is referred to as ‘Final Battle’. We don’t have much idea about the plot since it exhibits a new story arc that is not included in the manga series.
Space war isn’t the only attraction from the film. I am really looking forward to how the love story between Tsumugi and Nagate turns out.
As Captain Kobayashi has always known, “As long as the Gauna remain, peace cannot last.” So the fate of this cute love story totally depends on the outcome of the war.

Knights of Sidonia is a sci-fi mecha series by Tsutomu Nihei’ that began serialization in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine from April 25, 2009, and concluded on September 25, 2015, spanning over 15 compiled volumes.
