Yudetamago’s “Kinnikuman” manga series has been a massive hit since its publication in the 1980s. The intermixing of the sports and comedy genres has captured the heart of many fans worldwide. Originally planned as a parody of the famous Ultraman series, Kinnikuman grew into a massive franchise of its own.
The upcoming live-action series “Kinnikuman: The Lost Legacy” is a documentary drama based on a production company’s quest to develop a live-action “Kinnikuman” movie. The producers aim to create a masterpiece that is as close as possible to the original manga. To achieve that, they hire one of the most promising young actors in the country!
Gordon Maeda will play the role of himself in the upcoming live-action drama series “Kinnikuman: The Lost Legend,” and the show will premiere in October.
A total of ten episodes have been announced for the series. The show is structured as a documentary-style program where Gordon will be depicted working for the live-action “Kinnikuman” movie.
WOWOW will act as the production house for the show, and so far, the following staff has been confirmed:

According to the producers of the show, critics have always claimed that the perfect adaptation of the original manga is impossible. But in 2019, it was announced that a trilogy of live-action films would be produced. The docu-drama will feature the struggles of the team as they try to achieve the impossible!
Fans are delighted to know that Gordon Maeda will be joining the cast. Gordon appeared in the live-action Tokyo Revengers film earlier this year and was widely appreciated for his performance. So obviously, fans expect a great deal from him this time as well!
