The Kingsman franchise has big plans for the fourth film, which is set to begin filming in September of 2022.
The film will mark the end of the journey for Taron Egerton’s Eggsy. However, it is still a long way ahead. Before that happens, we’ll get to watch a prequel, The King’s Man, which will take us to the WWI era.
While talking to ComicBook.com , producer and director Matthew Vaughn revealed that Kingsman 3 will conclude Eggsy’s story and said,
We’re all set to go. We start filming in September.

While Kingsman 3 will take place in the current timeline, the upcoming The King’s Man is set before Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle and tells the origin story of the spy group during World War I.
Kingsman 3 happening doesn’t come as a surprise as previous discussions/rumors have often talked about the franchise planning on a couple more projects. But when Disney acquired Fox in 2019, the film’s future was uncertain.
Various reports suggest that the film is titled Kingsman: The Blue Blood. However, the prequel was initially titled Kingsman: The Great Game, so the fourth film’s title can also change later on as production moves forward.
Although the script has been completed, not much is known about the film yet, seeing how it is still in the pre-production stages.
After being delayed for more than a year, The King’s Man will introduce a new cast including Ralph Fiennes, Djimon Hounsou, Harris Dickerson, Gemma Arterton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, among others. The chances of these character coming to the current timeline seem slim but never zero.
In an interview with Empire, Vaughn had mentioned that the prequel will set things up for Kingsman 3,
We’ve put seeds for what’s going to happen in Kingsman 3 all the way back into this. And it’s going to be very different… I’ve cut so much out of this film that there’s going to be a 40-minute longer version. I’ll do ‘The King’s Man Vaughn Cut’.
Vaughn’s plans for the franchise’s future include an eight-hour Kingsman TV series and a Statesman film revolving around Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and Halle Berry’s American agents.
The King’s Man, the R-rated action-spy-thriller prequel, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 22, 2021.
