Kingdom Season 5 Episode 2: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Shin meets Kanki and marches with him for his next battle in episode 1 of Kingdom season 5, titled “Monsters Take the Field.” 

The season is off to an epic start and we are in battle mode already. Shin was quite displeased to meet Kanki as the latter is someone who never believes in holding back and is chill with his approach toward battles. 

The episode began with briefly explaining to us what is going on in Chu and why Qin decided to conquer Koku You first. Zhao has sent one of their best commanders in this battle, and the fun has just begun.

1. Episode 2 Release Date

Episode 2 of Kingdom Season 5 will be released on Saturday, January 20, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and each new episode is released every Saturday. You can watch Kingdom on Crunchyroll.

No, episode 2 of Kingdom Season 5 is not on break this week. The episode will be released as per schedule. 

2. Episode 2 Speculations

Shin will fight Ba Tei while Ka Ryo will try to find a way out of the mess in episode 2 of Kingdom season 5, titled “The Stench of the Battlefield.” 

While everyone is desperate to escape, Shin decides not to show his back and face the enemy head-on. However, much to their shock, their enemies had already captured the hill on their side. 

Despite trying their best, Shin and his cavalry won’t be able to gain the upper hand against Ba Tei, leaving them vulnerable. At this moment, Ka Ryou will devise an unexpected strategy that might act as their only ray of hope in this lost battle. 

3. Episode 1 Recap

As Sei possessed true authority over Qin and became the king the same year, in Chu, King Kaolie passed away suddenly, and Lord Chunshen was assassinated. Chu has installed a two-chancellor interim system, and Wa Lin has been appointed the new chancellor. 

The invasion of Chu is put on hold by Shou Bun, and the Xin force gets dispatched to the Heiyong Hills to battle Zhao. As Shin and his army prepare to head out for the battle, a strange guy shows up, saying he has a message from his bossman. 

All of Shin’s men show up at Kuomin, where Kanki has laid his base. They are quite shocked to see such a huge base and get terrified by the soldiers of Kanki. 

They appear in front of the main base. Shin asks for Kanki, and the latter startles him from behind. Shin pulls out his sword instinctively, as something about Kanki’s eyes makes him reject the general. He felt somewhat terrified. 

Kanki tells Qin Force that he knows their naive way of fighting. However, with him, they can do whatever they want, and is necessary to win. After the formal meeting, Na Ki, one of Kanki’s aides, asks Bi Hei to accompany him as his boss wants to meet one of Qin’s soldiers. 

The next morning, Na Ki tells Shin that Kanki has decided to swap soldiers to help the armies understand each other better, so he will accompany Shin as his battalion commander. 

Kanki announces they are heading out. With this, Kanki’s 50 thousand and Shin’s 8 thousand men move ahead to conquer Zhao. At Zhao, Ki Sui, the City Lord of Rigan, marches out to fight the Qin forces. 

Ki Sui and his men march under the Commanding General of Zhao Kei Sha. 70 thousand Zhao soldiers set out for Koku You. Shin is shocked to see the dense forest reaching far and wide upon arriving near Koku You. 

Kyou Kai tells them to head from around the forest, but Ka Ryo refuses as this forest is their battleground. Shin gets called by Kanki, and Ma Ron lays down their strategy. To win this battle, they will have to conquer five hills spread across Koku You. 

Shin and one of Kanki’s lieutenants are to attack from right and left, respectively, creating a front line and blocking the approaching enemy deep into the woods. 

Shin and his men rush out to reach the central hill as fast as possible. 

As they approach their first hill, they get bombarded by numerous arrows from one side. 

Everyone takes cover, but they get attacked from the other side as well, leaving them completely trapped. Ka Ryo tells everyone to retreat for now, but Ba Tei shows up, launching at Shin from the front.
