Episode 8 of Kingdom season 4 focused on the darker theme of war and the many hardships a woman has to endure due to it. The episode focused primarily on Diao and Xin, but we also saw a glimpse of a new fire dragon. In this episode, many developments took place.
This epic story is told in Kingdom, but it does not try to maintain historical accuracy, minus a few names and events. Personally, I think it’s better this way.
The Warring States period was probably hell to live through, and I don’t want to see an anime show on how bad it actually was for your average person during that time.

Episode 9 Speculations
The title of episode 9 is “Zi Bai’s Name”. It indicates that the episode will be mostly about Zi Bai’s past and what led to his sentence and what he did wrong. There will also be some emotional backstory.
It was said by some of his soldiers that he hated the Qin dynasty. It will be interesting to see what the main reason for his hatred is. However the contents of episode 9 may turn out, one thing is for certain, there will be great fighting between the two armies.
In episode 8, Diao and Xin were questioned about their relationship status, as both of them were single.
They must also decide if they have romantic feelings for each other or not. Xin interrupted with the statement that he loves and respects Diao as her little sister.
Conversely, Diao said she simply wants Xin to achieve his dream and be happy by his side. In both cases, the context of their arguments was similar, and some sparks were beginning to fly between them.

Episode 8 Recap
Episode 8 of Kingdom season 4 begins with the Wei army soldiers torturing Diao and reaping revenge against the Qin by reflecting pain onto her. After quietly enduring all the torture, Kai Meng summons her to his chambers.
Kai Meng offers her his bed in the chamber, and he asks what she desires. Kai Meng also inquires about her relationship with Xin.
As a result, Xin and the other generals agree to make an exchange with one of Diao’s hostages from the Wei Army in order for him to return.
The exchange appears to go smoothly. Hence, the war between the two armies continues. In the middle of the battle, the Qin army was dominating the enemy until suddenly, during the battle, Zi Bai, one of the fire dragons, appeared, and suddenly the mood of the battle changed completely.
