At the Kochou army Headquarters, Raido’s hands are tied behind, and he is forced to kneel down. Kochou stands in front of him and asks him if he killed Ryuuhaku. Raido agrees to the allegations and calls Ryuuhaku a fool.
Kochou then says that Ryuuhaku was like a family to him, and he can understand how his actual family must be feeling. However, he praises Raido for doing a great job on the battlefield and says that he would’ve done the same if he were in Raido’s shoes.
He further says that despite fighting fairly, he cannot let him go away with his general’s blood in his hands, and he must provide some punishment to him. He commands the assassin to cut their fingers and tells Raido that the choice of which side is up to him.
Raido says left, and the assassin cut it off. Next, Kochou says he must punish him for the massacre Raido committed at Kokuyou and says he’ll take an arm. He again asks Raido which side, and Raido senses his game.
After a series of torture, some of Raido’s soldiers have already died, and some are on the verge of dying. However, Raido is still sitting straight with blood dripping off his body.
Kochou tells Raido that they can still treat him. He looks straight into Raido’s eyes and asks him what Kanki is plotting. Though Raido doesn’t say anything, Kochou can sense that Kanki is indeed planning something big.
Raido has been hearing everything silently till now and finally opens his mouth. He says that if Kanki were there, he would probably tell them the plan, but he refuses to tell Kochou anything because of exactly that reason.
Kochou listens to him and says that talking more to him would be just a waste of time. He then turns to Ryuufu and declares him as general of the left-wing. At the same time, Raido realizes something and wishes he could have spoken to Kanki one more time.
