2. Chapter 653 Discussions and Predictions
Wei has arrived on the battlefield! Wei has brought along tens and thousands of army strength to outnumber Chu!
The battle between the three states gets thrilling, and we are in for another epic Kingdom war! Readers anticipate the showdown between the two Generals with monstrous strength, Moubu and Man’u!
Qin’s side has formed an indisputably powerful line up with Tou, Rokuomi, Moubu, and Gohoumei. In comparison, Chu has the three Juuko Generals Gen’u, Man’u, Sentl’un, and Chu Generals Kouyoku and Hakurei under their belt.
This arc allows Hara to flesh out the character’s strengths vividly, especially showing Gohoumei’s prowess to the finest! The readers love the warmongers from the previous chapter, four of those Juuko Generals.
As the latter remained unfazed at the appearance of Gohoumei— the fans comment that even the Chu strategist was war-hungry after making the heinous face at the thought of battle when Wei was approaching.
This battle is not an easy one even with Gohoumei and Moubu fighting together because the war maniacs have grown enthusiastic about getting Moubu’s head now that they can unleash their full strength!

4. Recap of Chapter 652
I. Chu Reinforcements
Chapter 652, titled “Words from My Master,” begins with Qin and Juuko army expressing their surprise over the Chu reinforcements’ appearance! The Tou army halts and General Kouyoku commands his army to spread out.
The Kouyoku army aimed to take out the Rokuomi army in front. Sento’un gets frustrated with the reinforcements and kills the men on their side who were diving into battle.
Hakurei orders the archers to fire at Rokuomi’s troops. Unable to overpower the Chu army, Rokuomi announces retreat. Ki also says they must call a full-scale retreat because this was no longer a fight Qin could afford.
II. Signal for Retreat
Moubu’s HQ gives the retreat signal, so Tou General commands to take down Chu’s central army to assist Moubu’s escape. But Gen’u commands the right-wing to lock the Tou army, and so they fight.
Moubu ignores the retreat gong and continues fighting. Just when the Juuko army thought they had won, an incoming sound catches all the Generals’ attention, and they pause the battle.
Supreme Commander Gohoumei leads the Wei army to the battlefield! Everyone remains stunned as the tens of thousands of Wei military forces approach!
Juuko HQ commands Sento’un army to turn around and take on Wei while General Sento’un rejoices for a battle against Wei and Qin at the same time.
III. Wei has Arrived!
Moubu’s HQ also celebrates Wei coming through with their promise, but Ki warns them that Wei hadn’t formally acknowledged their alliance and could stab Qin in the back.
However, General Junei comes bearing Gohoumei’s message that “Wei shall stand by Qin’s side and vanquish the forces of Chu.” Wei has accepted Qin’s alliance for three years!
Finally, Gohoumei commands his army to spread out the formations and they were to defeat Chu together with Qin!

The Kingdom is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. The manga provides a fictionalized account of the Warring States period primarily through the experiences of the war orphan Xin and his comrades.
He fights to become the most significant general under the heavens, and in doing so, unifying China for the first time in 500 years. Several of the characters are based on historical figures.
Often, characters will take the names of people in history, and other times they will have completely different names. The series was adapted into a three-season anime television series by Studio Pierrot.
