Netflix Picks up “Kimi ni Todoke” for a Third Season After 12 Years

Kimi ni Todoke is a sweet high-school romance story which was famous in the early 2000s. The anime has two seasons, and fans have been waiting for a third one.

Now, Netflix has surprised us, and Kimi ni Todoke is ready for a third season after 12 long years. This announcement has taken fans by surprise and has gotten them screaming.

Here’s everything you need to know about the third installment of this fantastic series.

A sequel of Karuho Shiina’s Kimi ni Todoke – From Me to You has been green-lit. Season 3 of this series will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide in 2024.  Production I.G will be the animation studio for Season 3, and the series’ original cast will reprise their roles.

Mamiko Noto will take back her role as Sawako Kuronuma, and Daisuke Namikawa will play Shōta Kazehaya. This is an excellent advantage as Mamiko and Daisuke bring life to Shiina’s characters.

Listening to their voices after 12 long years is bound to bring back all the memories of the past, and what can I say except God Bless You, Netflix!

The second season of the anime concluded with Sawako and Kazehaya finally getting together after a series of misunderstandings. Sawako had made some peace with Kurumi, and the post-credit scenes showed the beautiful love life of our protagonists.

The third season of anime will adapt from Volume 12 of the manga. Now that Kazehaya and Sawako are dating, they must reveal this to their parents. This will be the main plot point in the series.

The season will also focus on the love stories of Chizu and Ayane. And we will see Kazehaya and Sawako take their relationship to the next level.

Now, we do not know the exact number of episodes this anime will have, so it is difficult to say how many volumes of the manga will be adapted. We will have to wait for more information to find out. Until then, rewatch or catch up with this heartwarming series.

Kimi ni Todoke is a romance manga by Karuho Shiina. Two anime adaptations of Kimi ni Todoke were aired in Japan and produced by Production IG. A third season is set to premiere in 2024.

Sawako Kuronuma is a secluded high school student who finds it hard to communicate. She is often bullied due to her appearance but finds solace in Kazehaya, her school’s popular boy.

The friendship urges her to open up and make more friends in the class. Soon, love blossoms between Kuronuma and Kazehaya.
