The new Demon Slayer movie premiered in Japan on October 16, 2020, amid the COVID pandemic. It was regarded as one of the most anticipated releases of 2020.
The story follows Tanjiro Kamado and his friends who accompany Kyōjurō Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, to investigate a mysterious series of disappearances occurring inside a train.

Pamphlets sold at theaters in Japan for the Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen) film revealed on Friday that Akira Ishida was cast as Akaza in the film, who holds the Upper Rank 3 in the Twelve Kizuki.
It was revealed in the pamphlets sold during the theatrical screenings for the movie that Akira Ishida would be in the film voicing Akaza. The film officially opened in Japan after the strict seating restrictions were lifted.
Several key new additions played a huge role in the film and were not revealed by the trailers, posters, and other promotions until the theatrical release.
More cast members are being revealed as fans have begun to visit the theatres. Theatregoers will receive a “Rengoku Volume 0” manga volume, which is limited to 4.5 million copies.
