Award-Winning Manga ‘Yomawari Neko’ to Receive an Anime

I believe I speak for the majority when I say that animals are the ultimate cure for a bad day. They know just how to lift our mood, but what if these furry friends were more human-like?

Kaoru Fukaya’s manga, ‘Yomawari Neko,’ elaborates on this concept with an anthropomorphic cat as the protagonist. The series became so popular that it went on to win awards and become renowned in the otaku community.

‘Yomawari Neko’ (Night Patrol Cat) manga’s fame has now resulted in a possible anime adaptation, as revealed by a trusted leaker.

The story follows a human-like cat named Endo who wanders about at nighttime. Endo is drawn to the scent of tears and searches for those crying in an attempt to comfort and encourage them.

As the night is filled with people drowning in sadness, Endo tries to help them as much as he can. Even if he can’t stop their tears, he always tries his best to support them with reassurance and words of upliftment.

This morale-boosting cat Endo is the reason why the manga series won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in the Short Work category in 2017. Bestowed with such respect and honor, the series went on to make more people happy and comfort them during their bad days.

Considering how cats are super adorable and comforting (despite their moody behavior), I can understand Fukaya’s reasoning behind making Endo a cat.

An anime based on this manga sounds like a brilliant idea. This also means it will reach more people who need it, which is the story’s aim.

I hope an official announcement is made soon because I can’t wait to see Endo’s daily adventures.
