Kanjuro’s Devil Fruit Revealed In One Piece Chapter 974

One Piece is riddled with fascinating adventures, unique people, and mysterious things such as Devil Fruits. Devil Fruits play a significant role in the world of One Piece. They are the fruits of the Sea Devil found in abundance near the Grand Line but sparse and rare further away from it.

Chapter 974, titled “Onward to Onigashima,” was released on March 15. The chapter reveals the first look at Kanjuro Kurozumi’s devil fruit. The fruit’s name has not been revealed in the story so far. Its look is fitting to its powers as the fruit appears to have been drawn by ink at the top.

The chapter starts with a chat between Kaido and Orochi about the person who has been supplying them with information about the Kozuki’s strategies. The person in question is masked with shadows but is said to have originated from the Kurozumi clan. This is when we are given the first look at said devil fruit.

This devil fruit, owned by Kanjuro, allows him to make his sketches come to life. He has been seen drawing abnormally looking apparitions in the past; however, in this chapter, he reveals his actual skill as he made a perfect clone of himself. This makes the reader wonder – just what is the true potential of this fruit.

Fast forward 20 years to the present, we are shown the exact situation in which the flashback had started. The remainder of Oden’s vassals, in their desperation, are trying to sail to Onigashima to sneak attack and decapitate Kaido.

However, they are stopped in their tracks by Momonosuke. The obvious question which arises is – Who betrayed them? Who supplied information to Orochi about the new meetup location, which has caused their plan to fail?

The traitor is revealed to be none other than Kanjuro Kurozumi. In the heat of the moment, Kin’emon slices off Kanjuro’s head, however, it turns out it was one of Kanjuro’s devil fruit arts.
