Ant-Man 3 Merch Reveals Kang The Conqueror’s New Comic-Accurate Look

Kang the Conqueror will return to the MCU in Ant-Man 3, and the villain has switched up his style a bit since we last saw him pissing off a bunch of Loki(s) and letting the multiverse crumble into chaos.

As Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wrapped up filming a few days ago, and a crew member (@AceRuele) posted a picture in the film’s official merch.

The art on the t-shirt showed a broken Ant-Man helmet with a faint reflection of Kang in the top-right corner. Although the reflection isn’t exactly in 4K, it is evident that the villain will adapt a more comic-accurate costume compared to the robes he wore in Disney+’s Loki.

As things go with Marvel’s tight security when it comes to potential spoilers/reveals, the post was deleted, but not before fans had already discovered the new look.

This costume change is another reminder that the “He Who Remains” Kang that we saw in Loki was a tamer version of the villain, and as he put it, was also the nicest one among the lot.

The one we’ll see in Ant-Man 3 will be quite different – crazier, more powerful, and brutal, given the huge damage done to Scott’s helmet.

Kang’s purple helmet and green-blue skin colors can be seen in the reflection. This looks pretty similar to a recent fanart of actor Jonathan Majors as Kang made by @Spdrmnkyxxiii on Instagram.

Kang

Kang the Conqueror was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby and has a long history in the comics.

A frequent opponent to the Avengers and Fantastic Four, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #19 (1963) and The Avengers #8 (1964) issues.

Born as Nathaniel Richards, Kang is a time traveler and can manipulate time. He has many names… or, better yet, variants – including Iron Lad, Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, Immortus, The Master of Time.

(In case you forget just how widespread the villain’s reach is.)

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly return to the third film as Ant-Man/Scott Lang and The Wasp/Hope Pym with Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. Kathryn Newton will replace Emma Fuhrmann as Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang.

Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will open in theatres on July 28, 2023.
