Production and Cast Details
The anime sticks close to the manga, mixing risqué humor with a sincere take on growing up and forming connections. It’s directed by Masayoshi Nishida and animated by BloomZ, that takes the lead with some production help from Wolfsbane.
The main voice cast brings the characters to life with strong performances across the board. Tomoyo Takayanagi voices Makina, easily flowing through robotic tone with human. Yo Taichi plays the awkward but earnest Eita, while Yuki Kuwahara, Hina Natsume, Eriko Matsui, and Ryoko Shintani round out the supporting cast as Mimika, Mamimi, Arma, and the Landlady, respectively.

Eita Akutsu is a shy, socially awkward high school student and an obsessive mecha otaku who spends most of his time tinkering with machines and avoiding human interaction. His quiet, predictable life takes a sharp turn when the most popular girl at school, Makina Agatsuma, suddenly shows up at his doorstep in a state of distress. To his disbelief, she’s not just beautiful and popular—she’s a malfunctioning android, designed for intimate companionship, and she needs someone to fix her.
Thrown into a secret he never expected, Eita agrees to help her. But keeping her true identity hidden is no easy task, especially when Makina starts living under the same roof and her behavior doesn’t exactly scream “normal high school girl.” As the two navigate daily life and growing feelings, Eita struggles to keep her true nature a secret from friends, classmates, and a suspicious landlady. The situation grows more chaotic and Eita tries to figure out what it means to really connect with someone—even if that someone isn’t entirely human.

The first episode doesn’t waste any time. We meet Eita Akutsu, your classic reclusive high schooler and proud mecha nerd, who gets the shock of his life when school idol Makina Agatsuma shows up at his door in distress. Things take a wild turn when he discovers Makina isn’t just a pretty face but actually a high-performance pleasure android… with a few glitches.
Makina is malfunctioning, Eita malfunctions too, but for an entirely different reason. The episode gives us fast-paced comedy, awkward misunderstandings, and some tense (yet hilarious) moments as Eita scrambles to keep Makina’s true identity a secret.
