Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 88: Release Date, Speculations, Read Online

Narumi defeats #11 in chapter 84 of Kaiju No. 8, titled “Eyes Wide Open, Power Fully Awakened.”

Well, Narumi gained some new abilities in this chapter which were surely out of imagination. He can literally see the future now with his eyes. He predicted all of the #11 moves and destroyed him completely.

We also got some throwback to the time when Narumi was training hard and did everything to prove himself worthy in Isao’s eyes. The old man never recognized him. So, with the defeat of #11, he has finally overcome Isao after all this time.

1. Chapter 88 Discussion

The focus might shift to Kafka in chapter 88 of Kaiju No. 8. I can’t wait to see him fight again. 

Narumi’s fight is most probably over. We will move ahead to the next commander or fight, but not if #11 has some secret technique or method that overpowers Narumi again. 

If this happens, the captain will have to take some additional help as he is now completely powerless with all that future envisioning. There is a high chance of getting to see Kafka. Despite his return, we haven’t yet seen him for a long time, and I do hope we get to see him again soon.

Narumi strikes #11 again. #11 sees a change in Narumi’s eye. He can’t recall any such thing from Isao’s memory. #11 prepares to attack, but Narumi knows all his next moves. 

#11 gets frustrated as Narumi can predict all the incoming attacks and successfully lands hits on him. We get back to the flashback while Narumi thinks he doesn’t have any space for incompetence.

Narumi tried all ways possible, from boxing to firing guns, but none of it helped him defeat Isao. He grew more and more frustrated about it and kept on trying to prove himself to Isao.

He rose high in the unit and paved his way through, but nothing generated Isao’s interest. Slowly, Isao went farther and farther away from him, and one day, he vanished. 

 

Narumi’s physical and mental load rapidly increases. If this continues, his brain won’t last even a minute. However, Narumi continues his brutal attacks on #11, with the latter failing to dodge even one of them.

Narumi tells him that with the eyes located all over his suit, he can envision all his movements and can even foresee the future. From the movements of electrons to temperature and even the topography, he can see it all.  

He claims that #1 wasn’t able to achieve these powers when he was still a monster, but now Narumi made it possible on his own. With this, he moves ahead to deliver the ultimate strike on #11 with the Seven Blades attack.

6. About Kaiju No.8

Kaiju No. 8 or Monster #8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized for free on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ from July 2020.

In Japan, creatures are known as kaiju frequently attack the nation with the Japanese Defense Force in charge of dealing with and killing them.

Childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro vow to become members of the Defense Force after a kaiju destroys their home. Mina becomes a famous commander of the Force while Kafka fails the exam multiple times and becomes a monster sweeper, those in charge of cleaning up a monster’s dead body.

One day a small talking kaiju enters his body through his mouth and he can now turn into a Kaiju himself. This is dubbed “Kaiju No. 8” by the Defense Force.
