Kaiju No.8 is finally back with its latest issue of the manga, and the Meireki Era Daikaiju sure is having the time of its life, causing collateral damage all around the place. It just turned into its true form, and now it’s way more powerful than it was 400 years ago, and Kafka is now even more determined to destroy it for the sake of his friends and predecessors.

2. Kaiju No.8 Chapter 123 Recap
Chapter 123 of Kaiju No.8 started with Kafka’s warning, telling HQ to extend their danger zone radius to 5 kilometers as the Meireki Era Daikaiju was going to transform into its true form from 400 years ago. He explained that the vast number of Kaiju that haunt Japan to this day were all a result of this daikaiju. After it completed its transformation, it let out a roar that completely demolished everything around it.
Kafka was determined to defeat it, so he closed in on the kaiju to attack it, but he, in turn, got attacked by its really precise and fast attack. While he was contemplating a way to efficiently evade its attack and pull off a counterattack, the daikaiju suddenly let out a different kind of scream, which suddenly activated monster signals all around the place. Turns out, this monster could revive dead Kaiju all over Japan.
At this point, all the forces around Kafka, including Hoshina, Narumi, and Ashiro, who were at their limit, were susceptible to attacks. Kafka wanted to end his battle at their earliest to aid his allies, but the Meireki-era monster was far too powerful for him to defeat at the moment. Meanwhile, Narumi revealed that the key to their victory would be the numbers weapon no.1. However, it wouldn’t be Narumi who would be using it, but would be Shinomiya Kikoru, who finally got to have an entrance after several chapters.
Everyone was shocked to see Shinomiya on the field and even more shocked to see her with Narumi’s eyes. She had studied all of the monster’s movements with her eyes and was ready to dominate the battlefield again. It goes without saying that this was a much-required surprise at this point of the story, and we’re finally happy to see Shinomiya back.
3. What To Expect In Chapter 124?
The final battle of Kaiju No.8 is slowly but surely moving to its inevitable conclusion. The Meireki-era monster got a huge power-up, but we also got an addition to our forces in the form of Shinomiya, who hadn’t been getting enough screen time for many chapters now.
Since Shinomiya has had her appearance in this chapter, we can also expect to see some other peers of Kafka like Reno, Furuhashi, Aoi and many more. They may be involved in the extermination of the several Kaiju that have spawned all over Japan. Since Reno got a lot more powerful, we can expect him to be dealing with a few daikaiju.
