2. Kaiju No.8 Chapter 118 Recap
The chapter began with Kafka looking at the Kaiju, which wasn’t so small anymore. He was moved to tears after knowing everything that happened due to the Meiji Era Daikaiju. After this, the old samurai appeared behind Kafka and explained that all their hate and resentment had formed a core that fused with the dragon vein underground.
When Kafka asked the samurai why he was being shown all this, he replied saying Kafka couldn’t win anymore the way he was, with his core destroyed. He then showed him a heart, claiming it to be Kafka’s, and told him that he was going to return it to him once the battle was over, but now, since his core was destroyed, he’d have to transform the heart into a new core, or he’d have to forfeit the battle and turn back into a human after accepting his heart.
After this, Kafka told the monster lying below him that his (Kafka’s) pain was nothing compared to the pain he had to suffer for centuries, but that Kaiju held on to its pain and frustration, but still decided to keep fighting. Since Kafka was weak and had nothing, he owed everything to the Kaiju, so he decided he’d embrace being a monster his entire life if it meant he could keep fighting the Kaiju.
The chapter concluded with Kafka saying, “It’s rematch time”, as he accepted his heart, which got converted into a Kaiju core.
3. What To Expect In Chapter 119?
In Chapter 119 of Kaiju No.8, we can expect to see Kafka back in his Kaiju form. Whether or not his form would be different this time isn’t known yet, though. Since he doesn’t have a human heart anymore, he would probably be a monster for eternity, but we can still see him jump right back into action since the fight against the Meiji Era Daikaiju is still going on.
On the other side, captains Narumi and Hoshina are still fighting the Daikaiju, and things were looking fine in chapter 117, but it is likely that it won’t remain that way since we already know how much of a menace the Meiji Era Daikaiju is.
