Chapter 113 of Kaiju No.8 is perhaps the biggest banger that the author, Naoya Matsumoto, has ever made. This chapter has a lot! The fate of Kaiju No.9 is sealed, and it would seem many secrets are going to be unveiled.
The previous chapter of Kaiju No.8 ended with quite a few twists. Ashira broke through No.9’s shield, and after his second shield was revealed, Kafka managed to break through that too. Finally, even Isao Shinomiya’s consciousness helped them pincer No.9. Let’s find out what happened in the latest chapter of the manga.
Kaiju No.9’s Core Shattered
The latest chapter started with the confirmation that No.9’s core was indeed broken by Kafka’s newest attack. While other and Kafka himself watched in awe and disbelief, No.9 suddenly said, “let’s have a chat”, and Kafka suddenly saw himself in a place that resembled ancient Japan.
Kafka got an eerie sight of dead bodies lying around at a place that looked like the remnants of a battlefield. When he looked for No.9, he was nowhere to be found, but later, a mini version of No.9 suddenly surfaced and started talking to Kafka.
No.9 said the moment he first met Kafka, he felt it was nothing more than a mere coincidence. However, he admitted that all the events that had transpired afterward were inevitable because of the power that No.9 felt within Kafka.
When Kafka seemed confused about all of this, No.9 asked him if he remembered the place they were standing at. At this point, Kafka had enough and threatened to punch him till he died. This is when No.9 admitted that he was already dead and that he would disappear at any moment.
This also suggests that the Kaiju within Kafka had existed centuries ago and that Kafka being implanted with it must be a part of a huge plan made previously. Much about this concept is yet to be revealed.
The Meiraki Era Mega Monster
The Kaiju said he had a great time fighting; however, his ambitions had all been crushed by humans once again. When Kafka asked No.9 to stop lying, he once again admitted that he had no other plans, and that he had truly been defeated. At this point, several monsters suddenly emerged within No.9.
He then revealed that since his core was destroyed, he could no longer maintain himself. He said he’s turning into a monster that can only destroy. This is when Kafka remembered Ashira saying that No.9 has countless monsters within him.

After this, No.9 undergoes a huge transformation, unleashing the “Meiraki Era Mega Monster “.
The manga ends with the horrific scene where Kaiju/ no.9 stabbed Kafka through the chest (hopefully not his core). The chapter ended with Ashira’s horrified face, leaving fans to be in a nervous breakdown.
What Happened In Chapter 112?
The previous chapter of Kaiju No.8 featured Kafka and Ashira’s face-off against No.9. Ashira used her Anti-Giant-Class Kaiju Railgun to destroy No.9’s defenses and expose his core. The plan was that Kafka would follow up with this with his close-range attacks.
Luckily enough for them, Isao Shinomiya’s consciousness started stirring up within No.9, and because of this, he felt that No.2’s power within him was being rejected. As we saw the ultimate dominance that General Shinomiya asserted on No.9, the three managed to corner him in order to finally bring him down.
