Look, I am all for new concepts and eccentric storylines. However, I am also a sucker for tried ideas that are executed well. And Kaiju No. 8 is one such story. It has elements we have seen in other anime but manages to drag you into the story.
Many of the manga readers have binge read the entire series. It’s addicting because it is simple. What can go wrong? We have giant monsters and technologically advanced humans trying to eliminate them. The anime is all set to air in April and here’s some new information.
Crunchyroll announced that it will stream episodes of Kaiju No. 8 at the exact time they air in Japan, starting on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The company will also stream dubs in English on the same day the anime airs in Japan.
Crunchyroll streamed an English dub trailer:
The brief trailers show glimpses from the first chapter of the manga. It introduces our protagonist, who isn’t surprisingly a teenager but a middle-aged man who has almost given up on his dream. It also shows his mysterious transformation into a kaiju.
The English dub cast includes
- Nazeeh Tarsha as Kaiju No. 8
- Katelyn Barr as Mina Ashiro
- Adam McArthur as Reno Ichikawa
- Abigail Blythe as Kikoku Shinomiya
- Landon McDonald as Soshiro Hoshina
The anime isn’t exactly groundbreaking. However, it is super engaging. The primary concern, however, comes from the released character designs, and fans have been finding multiple faults with them.
However, there is still a long time for the anime to go, and you should give it a try before jumping to conclusions.
