“The one who falls in love loses” – is the motto of the main protagonists of Kaguya-sama. The refreshing rom-com manga/anime also has a live-action film adaptation.
In a world where power ranking matters the most, every relationship has someone with the upper hand. In the case of love, the one who proposes first loses. With a mentality like this, Kaguya and Shirogane play a game of ‘who can make the other propose first.’
The live-action film of Kaguya-sama is airing for the first time on television on 5th January in Japan. It will be broadcast on TBS and its other affiliated channels. The film initially premiered on 6th September 2019.
Comments from the main cast have arrived regarding the television broadcast of the film.
1. Kanna Hashimoto (Shinomiya Kagura)
According to Hashimoto, the depth of the work is the charm of the series. From conversations in the student council room to scenes of fireworks, they all add depth to the movie and make it more original.
“Many people have already watched it, but some say that they can’t get enough of it no matter how many times they watch. It is a golden opportunity for people who love the movie to see it again on the silver screen.”

2. Sho Hirano (Miyuki Shirogane)
Hirano says that he has often been asked, “Where are the highlights?”. However, he thinks that the whole movie is full of highlights and hopes that the audience will enjoy the film overall.

A commercial video was released for the film’s television broadcast. The video teases a “big announcement” or a “big confession” during the film’s broadcast.
The Kaguya-sama anime film topped the weekend box office ranking as soon as it was released and overtook Weathering With You. The film earned $21 million from its domestic run and ranked 24th amongst the top-grossing films of 2019.
3. About Kaguya-sama
Kaguya-sama is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It started in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.
Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them among the elite. But it’s lonely at the top, and each has fallen for the other.
There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss—they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the “loser” in the competition of love.
