Kaguya-sama: Love is War chapter 243, titled “Ai Hayasaka wants to Dress Up,” was the latest episode to release.

Chapter 243 was relatively uneventful as compared to the previous few chapters. We saw Hayasaka arriving at the Shirogane residence and creating a misunderstanding with Kei, who thought that Miyuki was now with Hayasaka.

Mr. Shirogane clears everything up when he reveals that he was in touch with Hayasaka’s parents and already knew about the entire situation.

We expect to see how the other council members will react to Hayasaka’s return in the coming chapters, and an update on Kaguya’s situation is highly anticipated.

1. Chapter 244 Discussions and Predictions 

Chapter 243 seemed more like a filler episode since it was light-hearted. Not much has happened. We saw Hayasaka and Miyuki thinking of excuses for her arrival. Meanwhile, a confused Kei misunderstands the situation, thinking that Miyuki and Kaguya are no longer together.

Everything is cleared out when Miyuki’s dad tells them that he knew their situation all along and reminds them not to underestimate how connected the parents are.

We’ll see how the Shirogane household will change in the next episode due to Hayasaka’s arrival. We’ll also see the student council’s reaction to her return.

5. Chapter 243 Recap

Chapter 243 begins with Hayasaka entering Miyuki’s home as they try to come up with a reason as to why she was staying with them. Hayasaka asks Miyuki to tell her family the truth, but Miyuki refuses, saying he doesn’t want them to worry about his possible kidnapping.

Miyuki’s sister, Kei, returns home shortly after them and overhears them talking. She misunderstands that Miyuki and Kaguya had broken up and Hayasaka was his new girlfriend. As they discuss a cover story, Miyuki suggests telling everyone that Hayasaka’s house burned down, but the girl points out that no one will fall for a blatant lie.

Hayasaka says she can pretend to run away from home, but Miyuki notes that the tactic is an ancient trope. They continue trying to come up with something believable, all the while Kei secretly panics, thinking that her future with Kaguya was utterly diminished.

As chaos breaks through, papa Shirogane makes a grand entry, calling Miyuki a degenerate for making Hayasaka dress-up in her maid outfit. Later he clears the misunderstanding by revealing that he is already aware of Kaguya and Miyuki’s situation.

He tells them that he is in touch with Nao and knows that Hayasaka will be staying with them for a bit.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.

Student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya appear to be the perfect couple. Still, both are too proud to confess their love and scheme to make the other confess their love first.
