4. Recap of Chapter 210

In chapter 210 titled “Chika Fujiwara Really, Really, Really Wants To Eat”, Chika ends up visiting the Shueisha publishing building due to the recent Demon Slayer craze. Chika stumbles upon a ramen shop and orders a bowl of ramen.

The ramen chef hands Fujiwara a giant bowl of ramen when suddenly “Mountain Eater Mama”, one of the four ramen emperors, confronts the chef for giving Chika a ginormous bowl.

The chef arrogantly explains the J-Style bowl of ramen is made for men. Mountain Eater Mama gets triggered by this statement and asks him to make her a bowl to eat.

The chef then hands her a bowl of Mega-mountain chomolungma with a mountain of toppings which would be quite a big challenge for anyone to finish.

The bowl is over 5 kgs but Mountain-eater Mama eats it with determination. The chef states it’s easier to give up and enjoy the ramen with her grandson, when she remembers about her break up and states that she had given up that kind of happiness a long time ago.

Mountain-eater Mama recognizes the chef as the former owner of Hourai-ken at Koenji. She remembers the shop being a happy place where men, women and children alike would enjoy the food there. She asks why he had changed his ways.

The owner remembers his daughter fainting due to malnutrition and that incident had made him offer giant bowls of noodles to his female customers. This would fatten them up and ensure that no girl would ever experience what his daughter had to go through.

Mountain-eater Mama feels the emotions being conveyed by his noodles, so she quickly finishes the bowl while Chika also finishes her bowl as well.

The two winning ladies click a congratulatory picture together holding the finished bowl.

The happiness in Chika’s face when she finishes the bowl of ramen urges the owner to introduce two new sizes “mini” and “normal” bowls of ramen suitable for young women so that they don’t overeat but also enjoy the food.

Chika and Mountain-eater mama’s win goes down in history and people remember the young girl finishing her ginormous bowl with ease.

Will Miyuki agree to the breakup? We can only find out in chapter 211.

Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka.

It follows Student council president Miyuki Shirogane and Vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya, who appear to be the perfect couple.
