Kaguya sama Chapter 199: Release Date, Discussion, Read Online

Kaguya-sama is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. As the Shirogane Family decides to move into a new luxurious apartment, Shinomiya wants to visit Miyuki’s old house once, to check out where he grew up.

1. Chapter 199 Raw Scans, Leaks

According to the Raw Scans of Kaguya Sama Chapter 199. We will see that Ishigami is doing better than what he did in his previous exams. Kaguya comes in first place in the exams. Which she found strange, as usually, it’s Shirogane who comes in the first place. 

She notices that he is not upset with not being in the first position. Shirogane explains how it’s no problem as he will be leaving for college in the states in half a year, so he was focused on preparing for that. Another reason why he studied so hard in school was to be on equal foot with Kaguya. 

Later, Kaguya tells all of it to Kashiwagi and she tells her how guys before dating someone of their opposite-sex make a lot of effort, and once they are in a relationship they hardly make an effort. 

Kaguya then texts Shirogane that she has something important to tell and she will be waiting in the student council’s room after class.

Shirogane feels anxious and curious about what Kaguya wants to tell him. He wonders whether it’s about his grades falling. As most couples break up when their academic performances fall because of the relationship. Then his rational part of the mind tells him that she wouldn’t break up because of such a thing. 

While Shirogane was lost in his thoughts, Kaguya showed up to prove whether what Kashiwagi told her was perhaps right indeed. 

Kaguya tells Shirogane that she is thirsty and waits for him to either say go get it yourself or I have to listen to my cute girlfriend. But he reacts in a different way than she expected. He offers her his bottle of water if she was comfortable drinking from it. 

Kaguya takes a different approach and asks Shirogane to do accounting work that Ishigami couldn’t get finished because of the exams and not to use a calculator. Shirogane asks whether it’s because of the drop in his performance. Then he agrees with her. She again attempts to ask something more difficult and personal. She requests him to give her a massage as she is tired of studying. Shirogane agrees and gives her a massage and wonders why she has been asking such questions, as she has never done this before. 

Shirogane comes to the conclusion that she is looking down on him and sees him as a servant rather than a boyfriend. Then Kaguya apologizes for testing him for so long and tells him all about what Kashiwagi had told her. Upon hearing that feels relieved and tells her that he thought it was because his performance dropped in recent exams. 

Then as an apology, Kaguya says that she will massage Shirogane’s feet and he refuses but Kaguya does it anyway. He awkwardly laughs and says it tickles. At the end of the chapter, we will see that Miko comes into the council’s room and witnesses Kaguya massage Shirogane’s feet and says that the President likes to be treated like a king in a relationship.

2. Chapter 199 Discussions and Predictions

In the upcoming chapter, we speculate that we will get to see how Shirogane handles the situation of Kaguya wanting to visit his older apartment once before he leaves and shifts to the new apartment!

Another possibility according to the reader’s discussion is that Shirogane’s grades might be falling. Because unlike Kaguya who has natural talent, Shirogane comes first due to his sheer will and commitment to studying or perhaps Maki would beat both of Kaguya and Shirogane because of their relationship affecting their grades.

Chapter 198, titled “Kaguya Shinomiya’s Impossible Challenge: The Swallow’s Cowry,” begins with Shuchiin’s semester ending soon, which means the final exams are around the corner. Ishigami has a very clear goal, that is to ace the tests and get good enough grades to come under the school’s top 50.

Ishigami has two reasons why he wants to do it. First, he hopes to keep his promise to Kaguya. Also, he wants to be closer to Tsubame in terms of school performance. But having a clear goal does not mean Ishigami will achieve it easily. Studying for the exam proves to be difficult as Ishigami is addicted to playing video games.

II. Ishigami accomplishing his goals

Ishigami admits to Kaguya about his addiction to gaming and not being able to study. Kaguya, being very understanding, explained to Ishigami that not every student has the same abilities as others. She also says that Ishigami isn’t the best when it comes to studying but he is certainly better at other things.

Further, Ishigami says that he wants to get good grades. Kaguya suggests removing all the distractions from his room and locking himself for a few hours. As a person cannot change his feelings in one day. But change in environment would be more conducive for studying.

In the end, Ishigami manages to study and accomplishes his goal. He lands at the top 36 after the final exam. Kaguya sheds some tears of joy for Ishigami and the fact that this success is all because of his efforts.

Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.

It follows Student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya, who appear to be the perfect couple. Kaguya is the daughter of a wealthy conglomerate family, and Miyuki is the top student at the school and well-known across the prefecture.
