Jujutsu Kaisen is an ongoing anime series that started airing in October 2020. Though season 1 isn’t over yet, fans are already making speculation about season 2.
The Shonen title with weekly monster fights, magic ninja school, and pretty action animation has quickly become a fan-favorite!
The story of Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around Yuuji Itadori. Yuuji is a teenager with strong ideals, a stubborn grandfather, and tons of mishaps that fill his entire being.
Still, he manages to maintain a positive outlook in life. Yuuji also has exceptional physical strength that makes him stronger than an average human.
One day, while witnessing a supernatural fight, Yuuji swallows an extremely cursed object: ex Jujutsu sorcerer, current demon lord, Sukuna’s finger.
As disgusting as that sounds, Yuuji surprisingly becomes a vessel of the demon and embarks on a journey to fully become Sukuna’s vessel by consuming all of his 20 fingers and smashing some monsters on the way.
If you haven’t already watched Jujutsu Kaisen, I highly recommend you to do so since it’s awesome!
1. Release Date
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen could release as early as the summer of 2022. Season 1 isn’t over yet and will run till March of 2021, covering the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, the 6th manga arc.
To avoid fillers, the anime might have to wait a bit longer since there are only 9 complete arcs as of now. If season 2 ran for 24 episodes like season 1, it would adapt 5-6 arcs depending on each arc’s length.
Regardless, it is safe to assume that the anime will most likely get a second season due to its popularity.
2. What To Expect From Season 2
Since season 1 isn’t over yet, it is hard to predict what season 2 could offer. However, if the first season covers the 6th arc: Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, then the second season would resume from the 7th arc, which is the Death Painting Arc.
Here’s a list of all the arcs in the manga as of December 2020.
- Cursed Child Arc
- Introduction Arc
- Cursed Womb Arc
- Cursed Training Arc
