Since its announcement for premiere in July, Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most awaited anime titles for all shonen fans. The supernatural horror series is returning after three years. But the success of the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 proves that the excitement has only become stronger.
The movie now stands among one of the highest-earning anime films in Japan. As for the second season, more details have been revealed.
On Saturday, the production staff for Jujutsu Kaisen revealed a new promotional video, revealing that the second season would premiere on July 6. The staff also shared changes to the cast and staff members for the same.
It is quite clear from the video that the second season would take a dive into the past, showing events before Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko Ieiri are students at Tokyo Jujutsu High. The three undertake a mission where two new characters will also play an important role.
The voice artists for new characters have also been revealed:

There has been a slight change in the staff. Shōta Goshozono will direct the second season, replacing Sunghoo Park. MAPPA will continue to produce the series.
Gojo and Geto appear in their student outfits in the visual above. In the background, we can see Toji Fushiguro on the right and Riko and Misato Kuroi on the left.
The second season will run for two continuous cours and cover Gojo’s Past (Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu) arc and the Shibuya Incident arc.
There is something different about the animation quality. It looks smoother than it already was. The story arcs to be covered are said to be really important to the overall storyline, so watching it is a no-brainer.
